Book News!

What is Book News?

This page will feature three topics.  First will be a link to the Library's New and Upcoming Titles page on their website.  If you want to find out the newest books on the shelves at the Library this is a direct link to a list of the titles and a connection to the catalog to see if the book is available or reserve your copy.

Next will be a Staff Picks article.  Each month a different staff member of the Library will pick a book and write about the book and why they recommend it for your reading pleasure.

And finally we hope to feature our Member Must Reads.   We would love to hear from you with book titles you would like others to know are great reads.  Please send us your ideas and we will feature a member each month.

We hope to finish this page in late August.  Look for a posting on our Facebook page.

Staff Picks- October/November 2015

by Whittney Mahle

My Pick:  Wicked Charms by Janet Evanovich
Lizzy & Diesel series #3

Lizzy was perfectly happy baking cupcakes and living a quiet life in New England with her cat, until she found herself caught between the forces of good and evil in a race to find the SALIGIA stones, each holding an essence of the seven deadly sins. Now she must use her newly discovered powers and find the stones before they can be combined to unleash an unstoppable dark force upon the earth. With the appearance of the Stone of Avarice, a new player has joined the game, and he won’t stop until the stone (and Lizzy) are under his control.

Will Lizzy recover the stone in time? More importantly-  will she fall for Wulf, the classic ‘bad boy’, or will Diesel’s charm and rock hard abs win in the end? Will Carl the monkey ever stop flipping people off?  Would you expect anything less than hilarity from Janet Evanovich?

 Why I liked it:

I was getting a little tired of the Stephanie Plum series, and I feel like this new series has recaptured that energy, and blend between comedy and action.  I love a romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I give it 4 stars.
