This is the annual author fundraising event for BOOKMARKS and MARION PUBLIC LIBRARY
October 25, 2019 @ Marion Public Library 6:00 pm: Social Hour mingle with the author before the main presentation: limited number of tickets available for $75 per person
7:00 pm: General Admission ticket for the main speaking presentation is $30 per person
8:00 pm: Book Signing is included with both ticket levels. Books can be purchased at the event or in advance.
Hear from John Scalzi, one of the most popular and acclaimed Science Fiction authors to emerge in the last decade. Enjoy the Library’s space with live music, desserts, beverages, and a cash bar. All proceeds go to support the operations of the Marion Public Library.

John Scalzi is a New York Times bestselling science fiction author. His novel Redshirts, an intergalactic sci-fi adventure, won the 2013 Hugo Award for Best Novel. His other works include the popular Old Man's War series (three novels of which have also been nominated for Hugo Awards), The Android’s Dream, Agent to the Stars, and Lock In. In addition to the Hugo, he is also the recipient of the 2016 Governor's Award for the Arts in Ohio.
Scalzi is the former president of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, and has also served as a creative consultant for the television series Stargate Universe. His blog, Whatever, is one of the most widely-read websites in the modern Sci-Fi community.
Mr. Scalzi was born in Fairfield, California in 1969 and now lives in Bradford, Ohio with his wife and daughter.
